TORONTO FASHION WEEK: VAWK S/S 2013

Sunny Fong began his runway show with VAWKKIN, which is essentially a wearable, business version of its luxury parent label, VAWK. For that reason, the models were diverse in terms of age, shape, and size, but all of them rocked the black-and-white looks in their flat oxfords and metallic eye makeup. Though most of the garments were colourless, a few featured purple accents, and many played on matte-vs-satin textures.

VAWK was - of course - a lot less conservative, featuring graphic devices like deep v-necklines and one particular gold cone bra. The matte-vs-satin theme was carried through to this collection with the use of leather and gold foil, and though the two collections were very (read: extremely) different, they both had that Fong flare. - writing by Bianca Venerayan
