TORONTO FASHION WEEK: SOIA & KYO S/S 2013

Soia & Kyo’s spring/summer 2013 collection embodied everything sweet and quirky. Though the looks were meant for warmer weather, each and every one of them was layered with a mishmash of different fabrics and materials including upholstery, mesh, leather, and something that looked a lot like a potato bag texture. In an Easter egg palette, many ideas came together to form a spring florals/somewhat nautical/tropical/biker theme topped with turban headbands and oversized clutches. It sounds chaotic, but somehow, designer Ilan Elfassy made it work. - writing by Bianca Venerayan
