THE SHOWS: TANYA TAYLOR S/S 2013

Irony was at its most tragic at Tanya Taylor's Spring/Summer 2013 show at Andrew Richard Designs on Tuesday, October 16h. The farewell bid to summer is often seen as a welcome one, but Taylor's airy silks and colour palette could convert the most hardcore leather devotee. Prints dominated: a delicate mix of stripes and dots, alongside an unabashedly girlish floral. The silhouette was equally feminine, favouring the waist with pencil and pleated skirts and cut-outs. Bandanas, contrast stripes and structured, thrown over-the-shoulder jackets saved it all from being overly twee, imbuing the collection with a holiday vibe that's more Monaco than South Beach. - writing by Caroline Leung
